Here are some of our favorite attractions near Green Mountain Lodge.  Most are easy day trips.  Many attractions and trails permit leashed pets.  Please be a responsible dog owner, so that dogs will continue to be welcomed.  Pick up after your pet!  If you choose to sightsee without Rover, he can enjoy a delightful day playing at Green Mountain Lodge!

Chimney Rock Park -- about 30 minutes drive.  Dramatic rock formations in beautiful Hickory Nut Valley, near Lake Lure.  Great hiking and views, charming traditional tourist village. 

Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, Cradle of Forestry -- a beautiful day trip west. Leashed pets are welcome on many of the trails.  Spectacular vistas!

Flat Rock Playhouse is a premier entertainment tradition.  The 2002 season includes "South Pacific" and "Arsenic and Old Lace".  Nearby is the Carl Sandburg National Historic Site, Sandburg's beautiful home and farm.

Biltmore House -- about one hour drive.  America's castle is a home for all seasons!  Visit Olmstead designed gardens and vinyards too.

Brevard Music Center and beautiful Transylvania County lie to the west and merit the visit.  Waterfalls abound in Transylvania county, and don't be surprised if you see Brevard's famous white squirrels!
